Access requirement

Possession, by Oct. 31, 2023, of a bachelor's degree obtained in accordance with the regulations in force prior to the entry into force of Ministerial Decree 509/1999, specialist degree (Ministerial Decree 509/1999), master's degree (Ministerial Decree 270/2004).
In the case of a degree obtained abroad, the evaluation of the requirement will be carried out by the selection committee.

Selection

Type of estimable qualifications:
Qualification assessments (up to 60 marks):

  • curriculum studiorum: up to 5 marks;
  • two letters of reference from Italian or foreign academics: up to 10 marks;
  • examinations sustained during the triennial/postgraduate/master degree course or degree attained according to previously-applicable systems as per Ministerial Decree 509/1999, with particular reference to the curricular subjects forming doctorate objectives: up to 15 marks;
  • other qualifications of specialization and research activities, normalized per year from the date of the graduate degree specialistica/magistrale, if present (publications on international journals, specialization post-graduate courses, summer schools, attendance to research projects, position of research fellowship or research assistant, participation to research contracts, scholarships, assignments in universities and in national or international research bodies; all qualifications must be certificated, showing the activity's effective date and duration): up to 5 marks;
  • research project (which will be assessed on the basis of the scientific value, originality and articulation of the proposal, consistency with the research themes of the PhD program): up to 25 marks.

Interview (up to 30 marks):

  • knowledge of the English language and, for foreign students, also of the Italian language: up to 5 points;
  • discussion of the research project (assessment of the candidate's capacity to convincingly discuss project preconditions and goals; evaluation of the candidate's aptitude for scientific research): up to 25 marks.

Interview date:
29/06/2023 at 09:00 a.m. (Italian time) eventually continuing on 30/06/2023 at 09:00 a.m. (Italian time) depending on the number of candidates participating to the interview.
The interview will be carried out via videoconference and in English.
