Opportunities

Visiting period abroad

The TIM PhD programme ensures opportunities for doctoral candidates to undertake mobility periods abroad at leading institutions consistent with their research projects. A mobility allowance equal to 50% of the doctoral scholarship is provided, proportionate to the actual period spent abroad. The period must last at least 10 consecutive working days and no more than 12 months, and requires prior authorisation by the Faculty.

Doctor Europaeus

At the request of the candidate, and subject to a favourable opinion of the Faculty, certification of the title “Doctor Europaeus” may be awarded in addition to the national doctoral degree.

Joint supervision (Co-tutelle)

Within the framework of a specific international joint supervision (co-tutelle) agreement concluded between the University of Bergamo and a foreign university, the PhD candidate may be awarded a double doctoral degree, jointly conferred by the two partner universities.
